My name is Deanne MacLeod. I am 38 years young, happily engaged and have a 16 year old son. I was born in Manchester, lived in Ireland (Republic) and now living in Scotland, in a small fishing village in Caithness (near John O'Groats - save you looking it up).
At school my teacher hated my art (didn't conform to the general art concepts) and through so much criticism I treated art as doodling, stupid eh!!. Which is why I am a late starter to the world of Art.
I am a self taught artist, only attended night classes for Analytical Drawing Basics in '95 at the local High School and starting with Inks then Conte chalks and now with oils which I love using since 2007 and recently with Acrylics.
I have displayed in the Local arts Exhibitions and have some of my works for sale for a couple of years in a local craft shop for local artists/craft-persons called 'Made in Caithness'
I enjoy my art and have a small section of my living room cordoned off so I can paint in my small flat, my dream would be to have a studio where I can paint with no interruptions and live solely on my artwork.
I have painted from my imagination, painted with a life model in completing a nude and partial nude, who was a delight to work with.
I have a few projects I have in mind and want to complete in trying to expand my genre, including commissioned artwork. I have a varied style of work to give you an idea of the different work I can do.
